In the INX Media case, the Supreme Court has reserved the verdict on the bail petition of P Chidambaram.
Six bureaucrats who worked with former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media Case will appear before the special court here on Friday. Recently, the CBI Special Court Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar took summons on the CBI’s charge sheet and took notice of 6 bureaucrats and other accused.
In fact, in the INX Media case, CBI has accused 14 people including P Chidambaram in their charge sheet. The CBI chargesheet named P Chidambaram, Karti Chidambaram, his accountant S Bhaskaran, INX Media, its former director Peter Mukherjee, CMSPL, ASCPL and six bureaucrats.
Among the bureaucrats were the then FIPB Unit Section Officer Ajit Kumar Dungdung, FIPB Unit Under Secretary Rabindra Prasad, Economic Affairs Department OSD Pradeep Kumar Bagga, FIPB Unit Director Prabodh Saxena, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs Anup K Pujari And the names of Sindhushree Khullar, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.
The ED on Thursday opposed the bail plea of P Chidambaram in the INX Media money laundering case in the Supreme Court. The agency claimed that he is influencing key witnesses in the case even while in jail. The court has reserved the verdict after the full hearing. The court asked the ED to report the investigation report so far in a sealed envelope.
